Week-End Report

There are more and more events involving yummy food in Montreal. Only this week-end, I had the chance to eat two different tartares, a ceviche, almond flour chocolate chip cookies, vegan donuts and much more!

Fête de Montréal

Who knew Montreal had a birthday? Well it was a good reason to have lots of food trucks at the new Place des Festivals this past Friday!

It was exciting to see all the new food trucks this year, definitely an improvement from what we found in the same area previously with stations instead of real trucks. I was lucky enough to be with a group of hungry foodies so I got to try more dishes than expected!

My favorite bites of the evening were the salmon tartare from Route 27 and the regular grilled cheese from Gargantua. It was a bit deceiving to see at least 3 food trucks offer lobster rolls or a different version of it. I hope the newcomers get more creative and stick to what makes them unique! Also, we need to start having dessert food trucks (please!).

Salon J’ai Faim

Salon J'ai Faim

It was the first edition of the expo Salon J’ai Faim and I’m already looking forward to the second round. I was quite impressed by the list of vendors taking part in the event and it was a pleasure to meet and sample their products. Here are a few highlights to check out:

Savouré for their delicious sodas
Caramel & compagnie for the lavender caramel
Les breuvages Gingo for the spicy ginger juice
Almond Butterfly for their gluten-free and vegan treats that could fool you
Sel Noir for its creative vegan donuts

Pas d’cochon dans mon salon took over the kitchen on Sunday and delivered delicious bites.
