Petit Lapin treated me to an array of baked goods recently and I was so impressed by their products that it just felt right to spread the word!
This allergen free bakery is not messing around as it offers peanut free, tree nut free, sesame free, dairy and lactose free, egg free, fish and seafood free, soy free, wheat and gluten free, sulphite free and mustard free products. Viviane Nguyen opened this lovely bakery less than a year ago after realizing that so few real allergen free options were available in Montreal.
Petit Lapin will answer most of your cravings including donuts and cookies but here’s what I got to try:
The cake pops were surprisingly very moist compared to most cake pops I have tried from other bakeries. The chocolate ones were definitely my favorite.
The cupcakes were as tasty as they looked. Once again, the chocolate flavored cakes were my favorite over vanilla which is usually the contrary for me when I eat “regular” cupcakes. I loved the red velvet cupcake and even more than Les Glaçeurs’ gluten free version as it was less greasy.
The macarons were the biggest surprise out of all the sweets. Considering I eat paleo most of the time, I did come to find gluten free cupcakes over time but never macarons! They made for a perfect bite and most people would have no idea that they are eating special ingredients in this case.
So if you’re looking to treat a special someone that has any type of diet restriction including vegans, it sounds like you just found the mecca at Petit Lapin!
Also, just in time for Christmas next week, the bakery offers delicious logs:
