La Grande Dégustation de Montréal 2014

November 05, 2014

La Grande Dégustation de Montréal My favorite wine event is going down this week on Friday and Saturday at Place Bonaventure! La Grande Dégustation de Montréal has been around for a few years now and the organization just keeps getting better and better with time.

A $15 entrance fee gets you a souvenir tasting glass and the official event guide. You then proceed on buying as many drink coupons as needed. Coupon booths inside are open all day to get more and they accept most cards. A drink can cost you between 2 and 25 coupons ($) and you can also buy food to keep you going.

Even though LGDM is all about wines, a very good selection of spirits and cocktails can be found including lots of champagne. Needless to say, anybody can have a good time at the event and discover the joy of tasting and learning about what they drink.

The best part about LGDM is the fact that you can order most wines that you sample at the event by filling out order forms at each booth. When you’re ready to leave, a quick checkout process with the SAQ completes your order and they take care of shipping all the bottles to your house a few weeks later. The big difference with ordering at LGDM instead of with private importers is that you can order a minimum of 1 bottle instead of a full case which I find great for short term buyers like me!

If you find yourself a bit overwhelmed by the wine world, this is the perfect event for you to learn in a fun setting and ask all the questions you’ve never dared asking before.

La Grande Dégustation de Montréal Friday, November 7: 12 – 9 pm Saturday, November 8: 12 – 9 pm

If you’re driving to Bonaventure, know that the event took the brilliant initiative of providing a designated driver service with POINT ZERO 8. Read more about it here.
