Marché 27

d41f9 marche27 Marché 27 is a pretty little tartare bar located in the west of the Plateau on Prince-Arthur. I have been visiting it for the past two years but the menu was changed recently.

The restaurant also offers a great selection of gourmet sandwiches and salads. The wine and cocktail list is a must to accompany your meal.

The new tartare menu now offers more styles to go with the fish or meat chosen. Cooked options are also available for people not liking the raw version.

I picked the ancient style with my raw tuna which is made of a mix of  grainy mustard, horseradish, gherkins, olive oil and shallots. The blend was interesting but the grainy mustard was a bit too generous and it kind of ruined the flavor for me.

I ordered fries with my tartare and I really liked the new portion and presentation. The sauce with it was very good and fresh compared to the regular mayonnaise they used to give.

Conclusion: I was deceived by the “new” ancient style which I never picked before so maybe I should stick to the simpler styles that have always satisfied me. In general, Marché 27 is still my favorite tartare location in the city for its hype and relaxed experience. Good food and good drinks to start a wonderful night out!
