Montreal now has the biggest IKEA in North America!

October 17, 2013

I love IKEA. I loved shopping there when I moved into my first apartment during my college years and I still love it now to complete my house with convenient items and even products from their marketplace. So I was pretty happy to receive an invitation to IKEA’s grand re-opening a few weeks ago where a cocktail hour was held and we were then set free to go discover the store and shop away!

The store went from 237,473 sq ft (which was enough to get lost already) to 469,694 sq ft which means more warehouse space, more parking spots, more seats in the restaurant and more cash lanes!

The store now counts 54 inspiration room settings and 2 full home settings that addresses mostly condo buyers for their size, which is great!

The new restaurant section is pretty impressive and features many sitting areas compared to the previous set-up.

I had a great time discovering the new store after-hours and I really enjoyed the cocktail that started off the evening with each small bites created from the same products found and sold at their marketplace at the exit!
